3M Littmann Lightweight II S.E. Stethoscope Review

3M Littmann Lightweight II S.E. is a must buy for those who are looking for having a traditional Stethoscope to serve their general purposes as it is not cardiac specific. Being an EMT-Intermediate, my range of use is limited only to the BPs and lung sounds and the Lightweight laced with a tunable and sensitive diaphragm makes me hear even the small murmurs and bruits too. The acoustic quality that it offers is amazing and the base of my review here is the Cost Price that it bears.

3M Littmann Lightweight II S.E. StethoscopeYou get a Littmann (A brand that offers quality to the best mark), awesome sound quality and noise isolating earpiece at a very affordable rate. Comparing it with higher priced models of other major brands (That I’ve used) and even Littmann’s Upper models, all I can say is that the sound quality for general uses has no big difference in them while on the other hand $45 and $300 has a lot gap in between. This is what makes it ahead the race of this price range Stethoscopes that are overflowing in the scope market.

I am totally satisfied with this scope as I need not to worry about “diaphragmatic finesse” frequently and I can go with it anytime, anyplace and be ready to operate. Even my colleagues have been so impressed with the Lightweight that they are buying it for themselves and I am pretty sure, the days of their older scopes are 100% over. Talking about the structural frame work, Lightweight II S.E. doesn’t look a rookie with a normal framework.

It has distinctive design, like the tear-drop shaped chest piece that perfectly fits under the blood pressure cuffs and its pliant tubing prevents fold marks and fragility that comes often when the scope kept folded in the pocket for a long time (as I don’t like wrapping scope around my neck, its tiring). I’ve been using it for a year now and most of the time it is lying in the backseat of my car or folded in my pocket or gets stepped on but still it shows no sign of abuse.

It has a tunable diaphragm like the other higher models of Littmann that enables me to listen to a wide range of frequencies, all I need is to vary the pressure under the chest piece accordingly, like press lightly for hearing low frequency sounds and press more for grabbing higher frequencies. In a nutshell, one might not get striking acoustic benefits like what is needed in severe and keen analyses but for general purposes it is the best, considering the price tag it offers, with the physical and acoustic qualities in perfect proportion.>>Click here to buy the Stethoscope from Amazon
